If you desire to manifest something, you have to let the motivation for that desire go. If you still own the motivation, then you will never accept the thing that you desire to manifest.
This is difficult to do. Especially if we have built our personality around striving for something in our lives. Often this striving is beneficial and we continue to drive towards our goal. But sometimes we are in our own way of attaining our goals simply because we enjoy striving for it so much that we cannot accept a life without striving for our goal.
Recently have had this problem with a communication issue. I have build such a charge around unsuccessful modes of communication that when I encounter them I become quite enraged. This anger is a motivation for me to continue to strive towards more effective means of communication, which is good. But because this has become so strongly charged that I only see how ineffective the communication is instead of working at creating more effective communication.
This cycle only continues to create ineffective communication.
Letting go of this charge of emotion is difficult because I have built parts of my personality around this issue. Not holding the emotional charge will allow myself to be someone different.
Becoming the person without the charge is who I would prefer to become, so I will let it go.
Letting go of who you were in order to become someone else is one of the rolls of Stage 12, the Stage of Loss.
